Update on the church renovation progress

On May 8, 2017 the St. Andrew’s Restoration Committee had an Information Meeting to bring the congregation up to date on the church restoration. There were 24 people in attendance.

Stephen Robinson was the facilitator.

The purpose of the meeting was to inform, the congregation as to “Where we were”,” Where we are now” and “Where we are going”. The presentation was done on Power Point.

Stephen explained “Were we were”, as shown in the presentation the church was in a state of disrepair.

Paul Warren explained “Were we are now” briefly describing the work that has been done to date.

Doris Warren presented “Where we are going” with the estimate cost to finish the project.

The main discussions after the presentation were reinstalling the stained glass windows, painting the ceiling, and replacing the church benches (pews) with church chairs. It was explained that we will need all the funds on hand, before we start, to complete the renovations to the sanctuary. We have to start at the ceiling and work down, and the church will be closed for a period of time.

There was also a discussion on raising the funds needed to complete, this is ongoing, and we will need ideas on fund raising.  If anyone has an idea on how to raise a significant amount of funds, please contact Paul Warren 523-4916.

There was a discussion on landscaping including the front walk.  It was noted that we need volunteers to help, leveling topsoil, spreading lime and fertilizer, and laying sod. This will take place in the next two weeks.  If you are willing to help, please contact Paul Warren 523-4916.
